The New Standard for Outdoor Screens

superscreen

Superscreen is the screen of the future, only the beauty is that it’s here now. Standard metal mesh screening is limited. Once bent it weakens the fibers. Over time that causes rips and tears. These small openings can let in bugs and debris, and over time rip even more.

Superscreen is tear resistant, puncture resistant, mildew resistant, and even fire retardant which is key if you bbq on your lanai. SuperScreen outlasts traditional fiberglass screen material and is backed by a Ten Year Limited Warranty. Superscreen is also retractable. By making the decision to install, you aren’t limiting yourself to being enclosed all of the time.

Retractable screening rolls up discreetly inside of a thin non-conspicuously mounted housing. Motorization is also installable making retraction a breeze. Living in Florida, hurricane preparedness is a way of life. If you are a homeowner, making sure that your property is easily secured is important. Having retractable superscreens can save you from having to replace or repair your screening post hurricane.

These screens can install not only on porches and lanais but any window, archway, enclosure, breezeway or even garage. They are versatile and come in a wide range of colors.

The increased airflow can cut your electric bill by allowing the breeze to cool your home in the fall and winter months as well as increasing the quality of breathable air in your home.

Whether you are building a new home or retrofitting an existing one, when it comes to screening, SuperScreen is the way to go. We would love to give you a quote and show you how to maximize your homes true potential. Give us a call 888-41SCREEN or visit www.eastcoastelectricscreening.com

Extruded vs Roll Aluminum Housing

You’ve invested in your home to make it a beautiful, warm and welcoming retreat from the world. The retractable screens that you want to add should complement your home’s aesthetic appeal. Not only should you look at the visual aspect of the screens, but also make sure that the components are made of quality materials.

Here at East Coast Electric Screening, we only use extruded aluminum housings for our screens. This term might not mean much to you, but once a big storm comes through, you’ll be glad that you chose this superior product over other flimsy housings.

Extruded aluminum is the term used for the manufacturing of this type of housing. It is made of a thicker aluminum, whereas the rolled aluminum is about the strength of a soda can. Which one would you want to have in the midst of a hurricane? We’d venture to say extruded.

Not only do we use SuperScreen, a strong puncture and mildew resistant screen, our retractable screens roll up into an extruded aluminum housing. This strong housing can be custom recessed during new home builds or mounted above or below the door or window opening in existing homes. This discreet and slim mounting will keep the screen securely tucked away when it is not in use.

Extruded aluminum wears better than rolled aluminum due to the manufacturing process. It is heavier, has mitered corners and won’t bend as easy as rolled aluminum, which a lot lighter. You also won’t have to worry about the color fading from sunlight and other environmental exposures like you would if you have rolled aluminum framing and housing.

Garage Door Screens Create New Living Spaces

If you are from the northern areas of the United States, you may not be familiar with garage door screens. Since the weather down here in Florida is ideal for an outdoor lifestyle most of the year, keeping the garage door open to keep sunlight and air flowing can be beneficial to homeowners.

A garage screen is a screen that rolls down at the garage door opening. Since houses in Florida are not able to have basements due to the shallow water table, homeowners turn to their garage for additional living space. Some people use the garage as a wood workshop, an art studio, or a “man cave”. Others convert it to a play area for their children, a place to craft or even into a home office. Having a screen in these areas would be beneficial in many ways.

  • Keep Bugs Out! By screening in the garage, bugs can be kept at bay so that you can enjoy the space without becoming a meal to insects. There is no need to cover yourself in bug spray while enjoying time in your garage space with a retractable screen.
  • Air Flow A few seasons of the year, it isn’t terribly hot in Florida. So, many people will open up their windows and doors to air out the house after months of running the air conditioner. With a garage door screen, it allows fresh air to flow through the home easier.
  • Sunlight. Having natural light flow into the garage is ideal if you are working on projects and need additional lighting. If you are hosting a party and watching the big game in your man cave, your party guests will appreciate a nice open space with lots of light to cheer on the team. Also, sunshine can affect moods, so getting a daily dose of it can impact your health in a positive way.
  • Shade. Even with sunlight coming in, the screen provides some shade so you don’t need to concern yourself with sunscreen.
  • Debris. Fallen leaves and outside debris won’t find its way into your garage when you have a garage screen.
  • Safety.  Having a garage screen can increase the safety of children and pets as well as deter thieves. You should always keep an eye on young children and pets, but by having your screen door down, it will be less likely that they can wander off and get lost. At the same time, it can help keep people out. Thieves will think twice about entering your garage to steal your golf clubs if you have a screen in place. It is another obstacle to get through, so they will most likely move on to the next house.

At East Coast Electric Screening, you can coordinate the screen color to the color of your house. This is perfect in that it will add to your home’s appearance and also creates a wonderful function that you can enjoy time and time again. With just the touch of a button, you can have a beautiful garage screen in place for any occasion.

The Benefits of Screening for Kids & Pets

Old doors are clunky and sometimes they can even be dangerous. Screen doors and French doors are good in theory, but they can do things like slam on someone’s finger and hurt it, maybe even break it. This could happen to an adult or a child. Children run around and play and they often don’t pay attention to what they’re doing, focusing instead on the game at hand. Adults can get injured, too. We all forget things when we’re running late. Sometimes the door could hit you if you’re not paying attention while you’re frantically running back into your home to retrieve the forgotten item. If it does hit you, it likely won’t result in a serious injury. But accidents can happen. If the door hits a child, it’s probable that they could get injured more severely—because they’re smaller.

French or screen doors could also hurt or injure a pet. If Fido is chasing that tennis ball, he’s not going to stop and think about the screen or French door in front of him. A gust of wind could cause it to slam or, if it’s strong enough, knock it off its hinges.

With Clear View invisible screen doors, you won’t have that problem. And you can barely even tell they’re there. You can open up your doors and still have privacy. The invisible screen doors help keep airflow intact and best of all; they keep bugs and curious neighbors at bay. The invisible doors are tinted so you can see outside, but no one can see in.

These are especially pertinent in South Florida when the average temperature can reach 90-100 degrees. It’s also a nice feeling to be able to have the summer breeze travel throughout your home without having to worry about wasting the AC.

At East Coast Electric Screening, LLC, we cover a lot of ground in South Florida. We serve Palm Beach, Martin, St. Lucie and Indian River Counties. Give us a call today at (561)-746-2622.

When one of our screens is pushed in, it gives in to the pressure being applied to it. When that pressure is released, however, the screen will return to a taut position.

  • Roman archways
  • Windows

Superscreen

We use Superscreen, a product with many unique benefits. It is puncture, mildew and fire resistant. It also outlasts traditional fiberglass screens, and comes with a 10-year-limited-warranty.

The advantages of electric retractable power screens

They’re designed to maximize your living space and to bring the outside, in.

Each retractable power screen is custom fitted so that it discreetly blends into your patio, garage door, veranda or balcony. All you need is a remote to open or close them. It’s that simple.

When winter comes around, you’ll be able to feel that cool Florida breeze in your home without letting in the creepy crawlies. How does it work? Motorized electric screens can be closed to allow a breeze throughout the house—but there will be a thin barrier in place to protect your home against unwelcome visitors.

During the day, the screens can be closed to reduce the amount of heat and sunlight.
